Happenings:
It looks as 2021 is going to start very much as 2020 has run: with lots of confusion. What we do know is that there are no currently scheduled national shows for us at this time (ASHRAE was cancelled and ASPE isn’t till 2022). This newsletter will be a little bit of a departure from
the norm as there is a lot of general info for sharing within your organization.
2021 DP Price sheets have been released but that is for the pumps only. We haven’t gotten the new parts prices yet so there is going to be a revision coming out soon.
The New Guy:
GPM has hired a new Regional Sales Manager. Mr. Scott Sturm is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Business Marketing and Sales. After working five years in
the pump distribution world Scott will be covering the Midwest for us. His experience working with distributors and end users should benefit distributors as well as being an asset to
the GPM team.
With Scott taking over the Midwest it enables Paul Marchi to assist our distributors in the
Northeast and Southeast (with an occasional trip to the Southwest as well). New distributor
growth and development will be Paul’s primary focus over the first part of 2021.
BALDOR
Our standard motor supplier for all pump lines is Baldor. We have been working with them for
several years. We stock most sizes of motors in our warehouse here. The small distance to
Baldor’s local warehouse makes it a great benefit for us and our distributors when our stock
is not enough to service you.
One of the new things that we are working to offer with them is a VFD equipped motor. This
will come prewired with an ABB VFD. Lead time is six weeks now but they are working to improve it. The biggest change for us will be that when you place the order we have to know what the supply voltage will be.
These motors will be available up to 10 HP on all the pump lines (DP, GreenPump, PEMO and Victor) and we will be happy to get you a quote and information on the motors if you need it.
One of the most common questions is “Can HDL comply with Buy America/AIS requirements?” This is something that we are proud to respond
to with a resounding “YES”. Lead times will be a little longer and we need the required paperwork quickly so we can keep delivery times to a minimum. This is also something you can use when working with an engineer as the competitors in this market are not compliant.
Internal Madness:
Attached to this email is a current contact sheet for the people here at GPM. While we will gladly accept any and all orders from you, the easiest most efficient way for you to get the order in the system, is to e-mail it to AR@GPMpumps.com .
Technical questions, brochure requests, and anything else along those lines can go to the
Regionals or the inside group. This would be the same process for quotes on all equipment lines. We answer the phone and promise that you will
talk to a human!
Brochures and Literature:
So you are a GPM distributor and you are finally getting a little traction in your territory.
What would you think would be the next step in conquering your empire? How about GPM
brochures and literature that incorporate your company’s logo. When you drop it off, your
customers will know who dropped it off.
Any of our product flyer pages can be easily customized with your company’s logo and information. All we need is your logo and we can print them and ship them to you for use by
your sales force. There are a few pieces that we might not be able to customize, but if you need something let us know and we will get it shipped out. If you do not have the brochure order forms, please let us know and we can get them to you!
2021 Events:
As we mentioned the big shows for 2021 have been cancelled, but we still want to be active with you. Last year we did a couple of “open House” events with distributors and would welcome the chance to do this again. If you do have any other regional shows please let us know, even if they are tentative, so we can get them on the schedule and get you the demos and literature that you need.
The Future:
With the beginning of the year everyone should have seen an email regarding projections for
2021. We never want to issue a quota, but we want you to tell us what you think you can do for the year. If you have responded, thank you very much. If not, can you please spend a few
moments to complete our request. It makes our lives easier for developing a plan for stocking
strategies, and overall improving our service to you.
We are all looking forward to a great 2021, and here is to putting 2020 in the rearview mirror.
Best Regards, “The GPM Team!!”
Connor, Dan, Tom, Debbie, Scott,
Tristan, and Paul
