Happenings:
I would love to point out to you all the amazing visits and things we have done in the second quarter of this year, but the biggest thing we can tell you is about the successful online training that many of you took part in during our quarantine time. If you did not get a chance to participate and are still interested, please let us know and we will schedule something either live or a webinar.
Our Production is running at full speed. Water supply and especially drinking water is a vital process in our society. Especially in these times of crisis, this has as apparent effect on the demand for pump systems. Customers worldwide are ordering extra DPV multistage centrifugal pumps and other products. Our production is therefore running at full speed.
Because we produce our pumps from raw materials, we are less dependent on supplies from affected countries and regions. Fortunately, we ordered additional crucial parts and materials from our suppliers at and early stage and claimed transport capacity as well, so that we are now well supplied in this area. Thanks to the total in-house production, DP is less dependent on Third Party suppliers.
Going forward please consider this as it will allow us to continue our supply of pumps in difficult times as the world business climate changes.
One of the unique aspects of the HDL ball check is that it is multi-functional. With a simple change of the ball inside this goes from a check valve to an air release valve. This change with the “floating ball” would allow it to be utilized for large volume air/vac valve application as well.
One of the unique things about the green pump system is that the pumps are all very similar. With utilizing a few different materials, we can pump several different materials. With the polypropylene materials we can pump high purity materials. The use of EPDM and stainless steel further expands the pumps bounds to include acids and caustics on both ends of the spectrum. The big thing is that when you want to pump something, please send us an MSDS sheet of what it is. This allows us to select the correct materials for the pump from the body to the seals and o-rings.
How does on overcome name recognition when facing a incumbent foe? Service, availability, and price are the easy answers. The Victor pump can offer those when facing off against some of the well-known incumbents in the gear pump industry. Our prices and availability have not had any significant change and have gotten better during the COVID crisis as we kept producing pumps (granted at a slightly slower rate). This means while some competitors are quoting 8 week delivery we are holding strong with a 4-5 week delivery, and this includes pumps with special seal options or materials. The delivery coupled with a solid price and operational ability make the Victor line a solid competitor in the marketplace and an option that you can present with confidence.
Sludges, slurries and grit loaded media is a huge issue for most pumps on the market. The accelerated wear on the impellers, volutes and seals is the biggest concern many end users will run into when utilizing a standard cast iron assembly pump. The nature of the cast iron (and sometimes ductile iron) in the impeller and volute make them very resistant to damage from a standard application in water and wastewater, but more susceptible to damage from girt in other applications.
This is where PEMO comes in! The use of the rubber lined, or HardAlloy options for the impeller and volute with a Rockwell hardness greater than the media it is pumping allows for extended life for the pumps in the harshest environments. If you have aggregate, gritty sludges and slurries, or a unique application where pumps are wearing out at an accelerated rate lets us see what we can do.
Sales Tip for the Month:
One of the biggest advantages that we have with DP pumps over our competition is our pumps are in stock in St. Louis, and can get them shipped out to you in a short time period. Have a need let’s see how quick we can get the pump in your hands and into theirs.
The Future:
During the month of August most of the European manufacturers will have some sort of shutdown going on. From about August 10th to the end of the month there will be either intermittent shutdowns, or a complete closure for many of our manufacturers. If we have special projects coming up, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
A new feature is going to be “Pump Guy of the Quarter”. This is going to bee a person who has exemplified the pump sales side of their business with GPM over the last three months. We are going to play catch up and have all three for this year in the next newsletter.
Best Regards,
Connor, Dan, Tom, Debbie and Paul “The GPM Team!!”
